The Triple Vagal Method

The Triple Vagal Method (TVM) is a somatic therapy approach that uses
non-invasive touch therapy to invoke a sense of safety from within.
non-i
Rooted in the science of Polyvagal Theory, which explains how our nervous system responds to safety and threat. TVM works by gently stimulating the vagus nerve, a key part of the nervous system that influences how we feel, connect, and recover from stress. By activating this nerve, The Triple Vagal Method supports the body to shift out of survival mode being, fight, flight, freeze. Which in turn is replaced with a sense of ease, peace, love and contentment.
One powerful benefit of this process is the natural release of oxytocin, often referred to as the "love hormone." Oxytocin plays a crucial role in human connection, trust, and emotional regulation. It supports feelings of safety and connection with others, which is especially important for people who have experienced trauma. Trauma can cause the nervous system to stay stuck in high-alert mode, making it hard to feel safe—even when the danger is no longer present.
TVM also helps reduce cortisol, the body's main stress hormone. When cortisol remains high over long periods, it can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, and a variety of health issues. By lowering cortisol and increasing oxytocin, TVM gives the nervous system a much-needed break from hypervigilance and allows it to experience a sense of "safety", a deep, embodied knowing that in this moment, everything is okay.
Importantly, healing with The Triple Vagal Method does not require reliving past trauma. In fact, it's the opposite. The focus is on helping the body and nervous system experience the here-and-now as safe. This grounded, present-moment awareness is what helps shift trauma patterns. It allows the body to enter the "rest, digest, repair, and detox" state. The biological condition where true healing and restoration can happen.

What is Trauma?
Trauma is not about what happened to us, but how our bodies responded. When something overwhelms our nervous system and we can’t fight, flee or freeze we become "stuck." This survival response can leave us feeling anxious, helpless, exhausted, depleted, burnt out, unmotivated, in constant struggle etc. If we don’t complete this trauma response, our body stays in a state of fear, unable to come back down from that highly activated state.
Over time, this chronic stress wears us down and we often turn to things to cope. Trauma can come from many sources—abuse, neglect, accidents, or disasters—and most of us carry some form of it.
Somatic therapy helps by working with the body, not just the mind. It supports the nervous system to release fear and shift into a felt sense of safety. Trauma is complex and as more awareness is being brought to mainstream attention it's important to have a true understanding of what trauma is and what options are available to heal it.

Hi, I’m Skye Christophers! 🌿
A Triple Vagal Method (TVM) Practitioner living in beautiful Victoria, BC, Canada. I’ve completed over 400 hours of TVM training directly under Dr. Maj Zachari, the founder of this powerful somatic healing modality. I’m also a certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and continue to expand my knowledge through trauma recovery certifications that include nutrition, addiction, meditation and scientifically back approaches to wellness.
It is my honour to share this incredible work with you, not only as a practitioner, but as someone who’s experienced the transformation first-hand. My first TVM session cracked me right open. I felt raw and softened, which I hadn't felt in years. I had become so skilled at suppressing everything until I was physically numb. But in that vulnerability, I found something I hadn’t felt in a long time…hope. That session marked the beginning of my healing journey, one that’s still unfolding today.
For me, trauma showed up as self-sabotage, depression, anxiety, substance overuse, and isolation. These patterns left me stuck, frustrated and lost in EVERY area of my life. The Triple Vagal Method helped me reach the root cause: the state of my nervous system. From there, everything began to shift.
Now, I want to offer that same relief to you. You don’t have to carry it all alone. Let me hold the weight for you, just for a moment.
As a practitioner, my mission is to give you a break from carrying the weight of the world—to offer you a pause and give you a break. Even if it’s just for a short time, I want to help lift that burden. You don’t have to do all the work alone. Healing in isolation is possible—but healing in community is powerful. Let me come alongside you.

"Human contact and warmth bring expansion and aliveness to the body. Making contact and allowing expansion to take place at its own rate begins to melt the frozenness. As shock energy is released, the frozenness progressively melts and more aliveness is possible.”
